We are excited to tell You thatt he application for students and the
design competition for academics and architects for
Hello Wood's 2018 International Summer School are now open!
ABOUT THE WORKSHOPWe have been organising Hello Wood Summer Schools since 2010,
an internationally renown and award-winning annual summer university and festival, where architects, artists and designers,
academics and professionals from various fields of arts and humanities collaborate on projects for a week.
It is an experimental
environment where the ethos of "thinking with our hands" meets critical thinking. It is an academy that challenges student-teacher,
client-designer synergies at work, in search of innovative pedagogic methods in participatory design processes.
Through
the years Hello Wood proved to be a forum for international professional and academic collaboration.
We have had the
opportunity to work with highly acclaimed practices such as Miralles-Tagliabue Studio from Spain, Katsuya Fukushima from Japan,
Urban-Think Tank, as well as experimental studios such as Kosmos Architects or Architecture Uncomfortable Workshop, and academics
from Columbia GSAPP, TU Delft, ETH, AA, University of Liverpool.
This year we have invited jury members from internationally
acclaimed offices:
Kengo Kuma & Associates, PUP Architects and Raumlabor.
This year's Summer School is
called CABIN FEVER, where we are going to design and build cabins, to analyse this wide spread phenomenon of the excitement
around building one's own hut, lodge, shelter or cabin.
