Head: o. Univ.-Prof. BArch. MArch. Hani Rashid
Rashid's studio programs focus the development of conceptual, practical and critical skills and means for the making new,
compelling and forward thinking architecture. The studio focus moves within architecture as an object-driven pursuit towards
an environmental and phenomenological response and entity. Operative terms within this studio include architecture as atmospheric
phenomena, optic and experiential entity, all as a means of understanding and creating architecture as a an intelligent and
effective response to new forms of dwelling and being.
Students in Studio Hani Rashid are encouraged to consider
all aspects of spacial form making in terms of not only geometric and formal approaches but also as experiential and experimental
outcomes. The studio focusses heavily on model making (both digital and analog). The studio places a great deal of emphasis
on a 'proof of concept' approach utilizing physical models, animation and computer-generated imaging as well as diagrams and
data sets. This also covers installation work in support of all spatial and architectural arguments, design concepts and strategies.
