Expanded Digital Paintbox
Media art dissects the gadgets, tools and codes of our technocratic world. What is a thumbscrew, what is an accessory? Media artworks do not offer simple answers, but refer explicitly to the global economy, technology and science in an inquiring, process-oriented, playful and real time manner at points of interface and where it pays to bring up a painful subject.
In the “Angewandte Showroom” teaching staff and graduates from the Institute of Fine and Media Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna provide insights into both their “digital studio” and artistic strategies. Exhibitions, presentations and discussion evenings alternate continually.
