11. January 2022
Dear
university members,
We are endeavouring to maintain the proven special situation at the Angewandte
as far as possible and to enable physical presence in the artistic studies and examinations under the greatest possible security
precautions. This requires our united efforts and further measures, which we have decided on after evaluating the overall
situation of the last few days. Even if some of these measures seem more rigid than individual all-Austrian regulations, we
are trying to maintain an operation that goes beyond the way practised at almost all other Austrian universities.
The following new regulations will apply to the Angewandte from Monday 17.1.2022 until the end
of the semester on 27.2.2022:
(You can read the current operating mode overview in full
here).
1. General PCR test obligation
Access to the university buildings
is only permitted for both university members and external persons with a valid PCR test (not older than
48 hours), irrespective of their vaccination or recovery status. A corresponding certificate (including QR code)
and photo ID must be carried and presented at the entrances or during the random checks by the "Health Checkers".
"Alles
gurgelt" test kits and drop-off boxes are available in the entrance areas of the locations Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz and Vordere-Zollamtsstraße
7, which will be emptied Monday to Friday at 2:00 pm. Information on other PCR testing facilities in Vienna can be found
here.
We
are still convinced that only a high vaccination rate will enable a safe university operation in the long run and therefore
strongly recommend the COVID protection and booster vaccination.
If no PCR test
result is yet available despite timely submission (appropriate proof required), admission will also be granted with the PCR
result from the previous day in conjunction with proof of booster vaccination. Persons who have demonstrably been infected
with Corona within the last 90 days do not require a PCR test.
2. Behaviour
in the event of contact with a COVID-19 case or illness
Regardless of the new official
procedure for contact persons,
any person who has had contact with a COVID-19 case must immediately inform the COVID
staff office (
covid@uni-ak.ac.at, +43 664 88345033)
and must not
enter the university for 5 days. We recommend home isolation. Further information can be obtained from the COVID
staff office.
COVID cases must still be reported immediately.
Finally,
we would like to inform you that it is planned to physically make up the sponsorship on 10.3.2022.
We
are confident that with these and the measures already communicated last week, there is now a secure framework for university
operations in the coming weeks and wish you all a successful end to the semester!
With best regards
Gerald
