Reflecting the Oil Sands: A Study Trip to Northern Alberta

In collaboration with the Department of Art and Design and the Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies
PEEK FWF-Projekt

Students from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, along with lecturer and artist Ernst Logar, participated in a study trip to Fort McMurray. Based on their research and direct experiences with local communities, Indigenous water protectors and environmental advocates, and industry professionals, the students created artistic works that reflect various perspectives on the oil sands industry using diverse media.
In collaboration with the Department of Art and Design and the Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies, these works are presently showcased in this exhibition.
