In the context of "SCORES N°9: no/things" Nikolaus Gansterer presented his performance lecture "Thinking Matters Other Others"
at Tanzquartier Wien on the everyday object table, which Gansterer transforms into a kind of sign lab and micro-stage. From
26th - 29th of November SCORES N°9 takes an expanded view on choreography – as a spatial experiment also beyond the body,
extended to things, materials, artefacts, to the autonomy of the non-human. How can one extend the choreographic vocabulary
with a parcours through the things that surround us and look at us? How can one conceive of dance also without dancers’ bodies
or how does the human body second the body of things – and which is secondary and which is primary? Scores No. 9 takes on
the challenge of working on a de-centralisation and of rethinking things. By explicitly setting the world of things in motion,
and in particular the theatre machinery, questioning embodiments, exposing the apparatus, it focuses the synaesthetic mediality
of the choreographic, its fundamental intermedia quality and thereby the transdisciplinary significance of choreography as
a contemporary artform. The interferences of living/non-living, subject/object, active/passive, primary/secondary, digital/analogue,
nature/culture, chaos/order, matter/discourse, effect/affect, performance/stage work, production/execution, presentation/exhibition
will be explored.
