The Šaloun Studio Program is established for a guest-professor from abroad, who is appointed to lead and supervise the student´s
artistic practice in the large studio in the centre of the city, a former villa-studio of Czech secession sculptor Ladislav
Šaloun. Šaloun was the author of many statues in Prague, particularly of Jan Hus statue at the Staroměstské náměstí, in the
historical part of Prague. Up to now AVU has hosted at Šaloun such renowned artists as Madgalena Jetelova, Zbigniew Libera,
Gelitin(Reiter), Marcus Geiger, Althea Thauberger, Otto Silke- Knapp, Florian Pumhosl, Nicole Wermers, Ruth Noack, Artur Zmijewski,
Simon Wachsmuth, Josef Dabernig, and Ilona Nemeth.
