Research project within an
Austrian constortium on data management and interfaces
Contact: Helga Aichmaier
The University
of Applied Arts Vienna is part of the consortium “RIS Synergy” of Austrian universities and funding agencies. The aims of
the project are the creation of interfaces for the coupling of existing research information systems for an automated data
exchange and the preparation of a concept study for a research portal. The results will reduce additional effort because of
errors in the course of double entries for research and administration.
In the sub-project “Interfaces and Standards”, open access and exchange possibilities are created
for systems of funding agencies, research institutions and public administration. Central to this are data collection according
to the once-only principle and the exchange of information on funding programmes and organisational structures, data from
e-call systems and data management plans as well as metadata on research outputs.
The sub-project “Concept Study Research Portal” addresses framework conditions and requirements
of an internationally accessible research portal with the aim of presenting inputs and outputs of the research landscape and
creating innovative networking opportunities for research, politics, business and the interested public.
