ort Award for Figurative Painting and Drawing 2026 – Call for entries from the Lake Constance district (DE)

In 2026, the Lake Constance district will award its prize for figurative painting and drawing for the ninth time.
Competition details at a glance:

• Conditions of participation
  • Artists who will not be older than 35 in 2026 are eligible to participate.
  • They must be enrolled at an art school, university, technical college, or academy of fine arts in Germany, Switzerland, or Austria, or hold a degree in fine arts from one of these institutions. Their current place of residence must be in Germany, Switzerland, or Austria.
  •     Three works of art must be submitted. They must be representational, drawn or painted. There is no specified theme.
  •     The artworks must not be larger than 200 x 200 cm.
  •     The artworks must not be older than two years. They must not be submitted to any other competition at the same time. They must not have won any prizes yet.
  •    Canvases must be delivered stretched on frames or stretched and mounted by the participant at the Galerie Bodenseekreis.
  • Artworks that are not delivered on time (late) cannot be accepted.

• A jury of experts will select around 30 artists whose works will be presented in an exhibition at the Galerie Bodenseekreis in Meersburg (March 27–July 3, 2026).

• The winner will also be determined by the jury. The prize money is 4,000 euros (it is possible to split this between painting and drawing).

• The jury prize is accompanied by a solo exhibition in the following year at the Städtische Galerie Fähnle in Überlingen.

• In addition, an audience prize of 1,000 euros will be awarded.

• A catalog will be published to accompany the exhibition.
