Which webinars are available?
Basics for Beginners and as a Refresher
After an introduction to the Library, its holdings, and the
current borrowing modalities, the webinar focusses on research using the online catalogue supA, in particular on the research
of E-Books and E-Journals. In addition, there will be tips on how to research with success and participants can ask questions
in connection with this topic. The objective is to demonstrate how efficient the use of this form of available information
and media can be.
Research for Advanced Users
The webinar focusses
on researching electronic resources in the library catalogue supA. We will demonstrate how to search for licenced full text
as well as freely available journal articles, and you will learn how to further process or save search results and how to
set alerts. In addition, there will be demonstrations of research in the database module of supA. This will include interpretation
and filtering of search results. Also, we shall go into further research options.
Research in Individual Databases
We present an overview of licensed databases available in the Library
so that you know about the databases relevant to your study subject. After the overview of different types of database, we
go through example researches in some individual databases. Specific research tools and features of the different types of
database are looked at more closely. There will be an introduction to the reference databases of ProQuest (ABM, daai,
),
the fulltext database Art & Architecture Complete, eBook Central and the new online lexicon Grove Art.
Scientific Research
We present further options to search for scientific documents on the internet. First
and foremost is the search for electronically available full texts. Besides the research in library networks and DBIS, the
database information system, we introduce you to specialist portals for scientific research. In addition, we provide information
about various scientific search engines that give you access to freely available fulltext.
