15. November 2021
Dear
university members,
In view of the high infection figures in Austria and the current nationwide
tightening, we would like to inform you about an adjustment to our COVID operating scenario.
From
Wednesday 17.11.2021, a general FFP2 mask obligation will apply at the Angewandte. In individual
offices and in rooms where large distances can be maintained, the mask may be removed. We appeal to your sense of responsibility
here and recommend wearing an FFP2 mask in case of doubt.
The 2.5G rule (vaccinated,
recovered, PCR tested) remains in place for general university access and operation. Tests for neutralising
antibodies are no longer recognised as valid proof, in analogy with the nationwide recommendation of the Vaccination Commission.
According
to the ordinance, a 2G PLUS rule = vaccinated, recovered plus PCR-tested applies for events.
We
are aware that there is a need for socialising, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Nevertheless, due to the current infection
situation, we must refrain from celebrations in the individual departments without exception.
The
basic rule at the Angewandte is Presence Teaching. In exceptional cases, until the current nationwide restrictions expire,
academic courses may also be held online at one's own discretion and in consultation with the responsible head of department
- in any case, this requires a corresponding note in the base!
Staff members in planning, service
and administration can make use of the existing home office regulation after consultation with their heads of department.
With
the updated measures, we want to react to the current infection situation and enable the continuation of attendance at the
Angewandte with the greatest possible security. As usual, we will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments where
necessary. We will of course keep you informed of any changes.
You
can find the regulations for K2 persons and persons with illnesses here.
We strongly
recommend all university members to be vaccinated and also to have the third vaccination administered (this is possible in
Vienna already 4 months after the second vaccination), as well as to be tested regularly by means of PCR and to make use of
the numerous testing offers. Only a high vaccination and testing rate (also among vaccinated persons) can prevent further
restrictions in university operations.
With best regards and stay healthy!

Bernhard Kernegger, Barbara Putz-Plecko, Eva Maria Stadler und Maria Zettler
