Open Calls

As part of Subotron Game Jam 2026, a collaboration between SUBOTRON, the New York NGO Games for Change, and the Belvedere, all students at the University of Applied Arts are invited to participate in the Experimental Game Cultures Lab, which takes place at the University of Applied Arts as part of a course. It is aimed specifically at all disciplines!

The first Game Jam, which is dedicated to the topic of game prototypes for future goals, will take place at several Austrian universities and will count as a course. At the end, there will be an exhibition participation at Belvedere 21 in Vienna and the awarding of the Austrian Impact Game Idea 2026 prize.

The public art universities, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Science, have initiated the ‘A^{4 –} Austrian Art Alumni Award’ programme, which enables the awarding of one scholarship per year to six individuals with an excellent academic background across all universities. The aim is to support particularly outstanding graduates of art universities as they embark on their artistic careers, thereby promoting Austria's standing in the world of art and culture.

arts of change is a coaching programme for music and art students. For six years, it has been a platform for bringing together various disciplines from the arts and science with the goal of finding creative ways to explore the topic of sustainability.

The Krupa Art Foundation (KAF) announces the Open Call for the second edition of the international KAF Young Prize 2026, an art competition dedicated to supporting emerging artists at an early stage of their careers. The call is open internationally and addresses recent artistic developments from the past two years. Artists can apply in the categories of painting, digital art, and sculpture and installations. This call invites researchers to submit proposals for exploratory, interdisciplinary research projects that advance the conceptualization of resilience in relation to selected crises—primarily with regard to their societal dimensions. The project must be led by a social scientist. Projects should initiate structured collaboration with other scientific disciplines and with relevant practitioner communities, and employ methodological approaches capable of anticipating potential future crises.
