the direction of Craig Green - Livestream on dieangewandte.at
The Show Modeklasse 2024
will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2024 in the Atrium of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. At the end of the academic
year, the fashion design students will present their work on the runway and the six graduates will show their final collections.
Craig Green encourages fearless work and is looking forward to his first show: For the first time,
Craig Green is responsible for the Show Modeklasse 2024. The British designer took up his professorship at the Angewandte
in October 2023 and explains his approach: "My approach in leading the Fashion department is centered on the belief that the
future of human-led innovation lies not only in embracing technology, but also in understanding that genuinely original ideas
stem from physical craftsmanship and hands-on interaction with materials. Our responsibility as educators is to encourage
creative thinking by empowering our students with these necessary skills to express ideas and explore concepts freely.” Green
is very much looking forward to the show and understands his teaching role as an encouragement to work fearlessly: “With the
aim to push innovation and originality in fashion design, always encouraging fearless work while consistently advocating for
bold experimentation and new ways of creating and presenting. My team and I are proud to present the work from the talented
1st, 2nd, 3rd and Diploma year students of the fashion department."
International jury of experts
evaluates diploma collections: This year, six graduates will complete their studies at the Angewandte and present their
collections to the public at the
Show Modeklasse 2024. The work of the graduates will be evaluated by an international
jury of industry experts. In addition to the university's internal jury, the fashion department invited Simon Chilvers (freelance
journalist and stylist, London), Lulu Kennedy (founder of Fashion East, London) and Serge Carreira (head of Emerging Brands
Initiative at the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, Paris) as members of this year’s diploma jury.
Two
prizes for six graduates: The six designers of this year’s graduating class are: Martyna Bierut, Alissa Herbig, Yuliya
Hlazun, Viola Kollar, Oliver Kuzma, and Pouran Parvizi. One of them can look forward to receiving prize money of 5,000 € for
the RONDO Fashion Award 2024 powered by Polestar as well as the publication of a fashion spread in RONDO. THE
MALL Wien Mitte Award is another prize that honours a promising designer for their outstanding work with an award worth
2,500 €. The winners will be announced and the awards presented during the Show Modeklasse 2024.
