Library tour and classroom trainings are aimed at all library users. They provide you with practical skills for research and
academic work. Discover how you can use information sources efficiently and effectively.
Participation
in the guided tours and training courses is possible without registration. Those will be held in German and English on specific
dates.
Library Tour
The tour includes a walk through the library premises,
a presentation of our holdings (books, magazines, audio-visual media, special collections such as artists’ books), information
regarding the usage modalities and services, as well as a short introduction to the search portal supA with a subsequent book
search.

Basics
for Beginners and as a Refresher
After an introduction to the Library, its holdings, and borrowing
modalities, the classroom training focusses on research using the online catalogue supA, in particular on the research of
E-Books and E-Journals. In addition, there will be tips on how to research with success and participants can ask questions
in connection with this topic. The objective is to demonstrate how efficient the use of this form of available information
and media can be.

Research
in Individual Databases
We present an overview of licensed databases available in the Library so
that you know about the databases relevant to your study subject. After the overview of different types of database, we go
through example researches in some individual databases. Specific research tools and features of the different types of database
are looked at more closely. There will be an introduction to the reference databases of ProQuest (e.g. Art & Architecture
Source), the full-text databases of Bloomsbury, the press database PressReader, the streaming database Kanopy, as well as
the Prometheus and IMAGE+ image databases
